Cleburne Earns Tourism Friendly Texas Certification From State

Cleburne has been certified as a Tourism Friendly Texas community by the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, a program run through the Office of the Governor. The designation was presented at the Sept. 22 City Council meeting. According to City of Cleburne news, earning the certification required completing a community profile and self-assessment, interviews with Travel Texas, tourism training, letters of recommendation from local partners, and a municipal proclamation supporting tourism as an economic strategy. Cleburne now holds two statewide certifications from the Governor's office — it was previously recognized as a Film Friendly Texas community. The Tourism Friendly Texas program connects certified cities with state resources and partnerships aimed at growing visitor spending and supporting local jobs.
