Cleburne planners weigh rezoning 63 acres near Amazon for industrial development
Cleburne's Planning and Zoning Commission meets Monday to consider one main land-use decision that could reshape a large vacant tract on the city's west side.
Residents can speak at a public hearing on a request by KBC Advisors to rezone about 62.79 acres on the north side of County Road 1125 (Industrial Boulevard), roughly a quarter-mile west of Chisholm Trail Parkway, from agricultural to industrial zoning.
If approved, the land could be developed as warehouses, logistics and distribution centers, or advanced manufacturing — similar to the Amazon facility already operating to the south.
The city's Future Land Use Plan calls for residential and mixed-use development on this site, so the requested industrial zoning does not match that plan, though staff notes nearby land has already been rezoned industrial.
A previous attempt to rezone this same property as a Planned Development was denied by City Council in April 2026.
No letters of opposition had been received as of the agenda posting.
The commission will also vote to approve minutes from the September 14 meeting.
The meeting begins at 4:45 p.m. with a study session, followed by the regular session at 5:00 p.m., at City Hall, 10 N. Robinson St. The public may speak at the rezoning hearing.
