Cleburne police host National Night Out on Oct. 6

Cleburne will mark National Night Out on Oct. 6 with a Cleburne Police Department open house from 5:30–8 p.m. at 302 W. Henderson St., according to yahoo.com. Residents can tour the facility and visit with officers and staff. Neighborhood gatherings will also take place across the city, with officers rotating among locations throughout the evening. Police Chief Rob Severance and Assistant Chief Craig Huskey both highlighted neighbor-to-neighbor connections as a core goal of the night. Huskey said the rotating officer visits give residents a chance to raise concerns and get to know department personnel in a relaxed setting. Cleburne police also encourage residents to display crime-prevention signs, decorate their yards, or swap a porch bulb for a blue one in support of law enforcement. Other Johnson County cities hosting events the same evening include Alvarado, Burleson, Godley, Grandview, Keene, and Rio Vista. Joshua's event runs Oct. 10 from 4–8 p.m. at the YMCA parking lot, 1009 Joshua Station.
