Early voting opens Monday for Johnson County November election

Johnson County voters can cast ballots starting Monday, Oct. 20, ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, according to the Johnson County Elections Office. Early voting runs through Oct. 30 at multiple county locations, and voters may use any early voting site regardless of their home precinct. On the ballot for Joshua-area voters are statewide races for U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and other offices, along with congressional and legislative seats. Johnson County offices up for election include county judge, county clerk, district clerk, county treasurer, two county court at law judgeships, commissioners, and justices of the peace. Three at-large seats on the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County board are also contested. A Cleburne bond proposition asks voters to authorize up to $62.5 million in general obligation bonds to build a roughly 62,310-square-foot public safety facility consolidating the police department, fire administration, and Municipal Court. City estimates put the tax impact at about 5.317 cents per $100 of taxable value — roughly $53.17 per year on a $100,000 taxable value.
